Counselor-in-Training (CIT)

CIT - Counselor in Training (Entering 8th grade – 14 years old)

The CIT program is a great introduction to becoming a camp counselor! CITs will work alongside camp staff and learn the day-to-day operations of camp and what it takes to be employed at Marinwood. The program will develop your child’s leadership skills through training, observation and practice. CITS will be assigned to a specific camp for each week. Every week, CITs will have a different workshop on important topics like interviewing or filling out work applications as well as a weekly game against the Guards in Training!

CITS are expected to participate in and assist with camp activities, help supervise campers at all times, work under the supervision of the Camp Director and help provide a fun, positive and safe experience for campers.

CITs should bring a swimsuit and towel to camp every day to enjoy pooltime with the campers. There will also be an opportunity to assist with the swim lessons during the summer as well. Please inform us on the application if there is interest in becoming a swim lesson aide.

Please download an application here. Marinwood tries to make sure all prospective CIT’s have an opportunity to help with a session of camp. Our goal for our CITS is to make friends, learn leadership skills and enjoy a summer with Marinwood!
