American Red Cross Babysitter's Training
Babysitting is an important job. You need life and safety skills to take care of and protect children. In the American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training course, you will learn basic care giving, how to make good decisions, accident prevention and age appropriate play. The course is fun and fast-paced with hands-on activities, exciting video and lively discussions. You’ll learn to be the best babysitter on the block. Plus, you’ll gain the confidence to make smart decisions and stay safe in any babysitting situation. Impress parents by earning your Babysitter’s Training certificate! Please bring a pen/pencil, note paper, and lunch to class. Course fee includes American Red Cross Babysitter’s handbook and certificate.
Hip Hip: Thursdays

Learn how to bust some moves and shake your tail feather with this fun new class taught by Love2Dance studio! Hip Hop is a commercial style of street dance using popular dance steps and high energy movement to upbeat R&B and pop music. This dance style is often a reflection of the current pop culture as seen on MTV. Love2Dance is a positive upbeat dance studio that is open to all ages and levels regardless of experience. The only requirements are passion for music and movement and the desire for self-improvement.

Intro to Ballet at Marin Dance Theatre: Wednesdays
Ages 3: 12:45-1:30

This class begins to introduce the dancer to ballet positions, and beginning technique. The dancers will begin barre work, centre work, and continue fantasy exercises as well. They will begin to work with music and combining exercises, combinations and musicality to their classes. This class is located at Marin Dance Theatre, One St. Vincents Drive.
Please wear ballet slippers, leotard (for girls) with long hair pulled back, shorts (for boys). These are drop-off classes. Parents can observe the last class of each session.

Irish Dance: Thursdays
Ages 5 and Up
Award-winning dance instruction for children. Irish reels, jigs, and folk dances for fun and competition. Anne McBride has been teaching since 1960. Note: Monthly tuition is payable on the 1st week of each month. Students are exptected to pay the full monthly fee, regardless of missed classes. Your child will learn to defend themselves, gain self-confidence, and increase mental concentration. This program is designed to develop motor skills, balance, and self-discipline. Both boys and girls are encouraged to experience this fun and confidence building program. This is a non-competitive curriculum. The instructor will announce belt testing dates and an optional TKD uniform may be purchased through the instructor. Students not purchasing a uniform should wear loose fitting clothing that they can move around in easily. The class ratio has been lowered to accommodate the young age of participants. Capoeira (pronounced ka-oo-eyh-da) is an AFRO-Brazilian martial art form that incorporated acrobatics, dance, percussion and songs in a rhythmic dialogue of body, mind and spirit. It is a communal game in which two opponents play each other inside a circle, formed by other players who create rhythm for the game by clapping, singing and playing traditional handmade instruments. The class will teach basic capoeira techniques and music including traditional instruments and songs in Portuguese.Capoeira is a unique martial art that offers countless benefits to young children with respect to both physical and mental development. By incorporating body movement, percussion, music and singing, Capoeira helps develop balance, coordination, fitness, flexibility, and rhythm. Capoeira also builds social skills, a sense of community and self esteem through creative expression. Toddlers are introduced to Capoeira in a play-based and nurturing format with musical elements to make them feel comfortable while simultaneously inspiring them to exercise and learn new movements. Drop-in rate is $20.

Parents' Night Out: Fridays

Drop off the kids and enjoy a night out! While you relax, the kids will be having fun with the Marinwood staff. Games, park time, arts & crafts, dinner and a movie at the end of the night! Your children will have a blast in our toy room, playing dodgeball or just hanging out with all their favorite counselors from summer. This popular program fills up every time...register early!
