Sewing 101 with Studio4Art: Mondays
Ages 6-10: 3:00-4:00pm
This class is designed to create excitement, comfort, confidence, and a love for sewing! Class will focus on back stitch, over sewing, blanket stitch, and running stitches, while incorporating art skills of screen printing and stamping to create our own fabric! Puppets, stuffies, creatures, pillows and bags are just some of our focus. Students will even gain knowledge in simple pattern making and an light introduction to machine sewing. A fun and educational class for all!

American Red Cross Babysitter's Training
Babysitting is an important job. You need life and safety skills to take care of and protect children. In the American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training course, you will learn basic care giving, how to make good decisions, accident prevention and age appropriate play. The course is fun and fast-paced with hands-on activities, exciting video and lively discussions. You’ll learn to be the best babysitter on the block. Plus, you’ll gain the confidence to make smart decisions and stay safe in any babysitting situation. Impress parents by earning your Babysitter’s Training certificate! Please bring a pen/pencil, note paper, and lunch to class. Course fee includes American Red Cross Babysitter’s handbook and certificate.

Marinwood's Custom Classes
If Marinwood's scheduled Babysitter's Training classes do not meet your specific certification needs or fit into your schedule, you can request a custom class. Custom classes may be scheduled 7 days a week, morning, afternoon, or evening, depending on instructor and room availability. Our custom classes can be taught at our location or we can come to you. We try our best to meet all custom class requests. Prices and class length depend on the number of participants (lower prices for larger groups!), the components taught, and how far the instructor travels. Hip Hip: Thursdays
Level 1: Ages 6-10, 3:00-3:45pm

Learn how to bust some moves and shake your tail feather with this fun new class taught by Love2Dance studio! Hip Hop is a commercial style of street dance using popular dance steps and high energy movement to upbeat R&B and pop music. This dance style is often a reflection of the current pop culture as seen on MTV. Love2Dance is a positive upbeat dance studio that is open to all ages and levels regardless of experience. The only requirements are passion for music and movement and the desire for self-improvement.

Imagining Thru Dance: Wednesdays
Ages 3: 12:45-1:30
Age 4: 1:30-2:15
Using and expanding their own imagination, the dancers in this class will explore dance movement and musicality. They will make-up stories and play fantasy games under the guidance of the instructors, enabling them to experience the joy of movement and creativity. The dancers will develop physically, strengthening motor skills, co-ordination, and flexibility. They will discover a command of their bodies in a way that builds self-confidence. Dance is also an expressive art. These classes will allow opportunities to explore, develop and open creativity. Through play and trying something new these dancers will discover and express their creative selves. Imagining Thru Dance is a fun way to open creativity while being introduced to the art of ballet.
Please wear ballet slippers, leotard (for girls) with long hair pulled back, shorts (for boys). These are drop-off classes. Parents can observe the last class of each session.

Irish Dance: Thursdays
Ages 5 and Up
Award-winning dance instruction for children. Irish reels, jigs, and folk dances for fun and competition. Anne McBride has been teaching since 1960. Note: Monthly tuition is payable on the 1st week of each month. Students are exptected to pay the full monthly fee, regardless of missed classes. Tae Kwon Do: Tuesday and Thursdays
Beginning for Pee Wees: Ages 5-6, 3:00-3:30pm
Beginning for Children: Ages 6-10, 3:30-4:15pm
Advanced for Children: Ages 6-10, 4:15-5:00pm
Your child will learn to defend themselves, gain self-confidence, and increase mental concentration. This program is designed to develop motor skills, balance, and self-discipline. Both boys and girls are encouraged to experience this fun and confidence building program. This is a non-competitive curriculum. The instructor will announce belt testing dates and an optional TKD uniform may be purchased through the instructor. Students not purchasing a uniform should wear loose fitting clothing that they can move around in easily. The class ratio has been lowered to accommodate the young age of participants. New Mom's Group: Saturdays
For new mothers (babies 0-6 months): 10:30am-12:00pm
As the old saying goes, it takes a village to raise a child. But it also takes a village to support
and help a new mother flourish. In this group, we will create a community of women, a safe
place where we can tackle, talk about and share the big challenges we all face as new parents.
Nothing is off topic, but some things we can expect to touch on are:
- Your physical and emotional adjustment
- Infant sleep
- Your baby's development
- Changing relationships
- Going back to work and childcare
- Establishing community
- Lots and lots of Q&A

Kelly Phipps is a Postpartum Doula and Certified Lactation Educator, serving Marin/Sonoma and is a recently trained Birth Doula. She lives locally in Lower Lucas Valley with her husband and three young children.

Capoeira (pronounced ka-oo-eyh-da) is an AFRO-Brazilian martial art form that incorporated acrobatics, dance, percussion and songs in a rhythmic dialogue of body, mind and spirit. It is a communal game in which two opponents play each other inside a circle, formed by other players who create rhythm for the game by clapping, singing and playing traditional handmade instruments. The class will teach basic capoeira techniques and music including traditional instruments and songs in Portuguese.Capoeira is a unique martial art that offers countless benefits to young children with respect to both physical and mental development. By incorporating body movement, percussion, music and singing, Capoeira helps develop balance, coordination, fitness, flexibility, and rhythm. Capoeira also builds social skills, a sense of community and self esteem through creative expression. Toddlers are introduced to Capoeira in a play-based and nurturing format with musical elements to make them feel comfortable while simultaneously inspiring them to exercise and learn new movements. Drop-in rate is $20.

Toddlers are introduced to Capoeira in a play-based and nurturing format with musical elements to make them feel comfortable while simultaneously inspiring them to exercise and learn new movements. Our Graduation Ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 11, 3:00-5:00pm.

Parents' Night Out: Fridays
Ages 2-10: 5:00-10:00pm
Drop off the kids and enjoy a night out! While you relax, the kids will be having fun with the Marinwood staff. Games, park time, arts & crafts, dinner and a movie at the end of the night! Your children will have a blast in our toy room, playing dodgeball or just hanging out with all their favorite counselors from summer. This popular program fills up every time...register early!
